Car Charging Point Installation for Electric Vehicles

Electric Vehicles (EV’s) are increasing with popularity and now are a mainstream source of transport, largely due to ever-decreasing prices and government incentives for purchase of an EV. Also the installation of home or work charging points is becoming more affordable. Incentives include a grant for a brand new EV and the installation of a charging point as part of the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. This grant has now ended unfortunately for the off-street domestic side and now called the EV Chargepoint Grant as of the 1st April 2022 for flat owner-occupiers and people living in rented properties, to reflect its change in scope. The grant is a 75% contribution towards the cost of one or more chargepoints and its installation up to a maximum of £350 (including VAT) per charger/ per eligible vehicle for installations that take place on or after the 1st of April 2022. This grant ends on 31st March 2023.

Also now available is the EV Chargepoint Grant for Landlords, guidance here although there are some minor additional steps to follow prior to approval.
